Sherlockspeare

Once I was Ultrasweet just because I put too much sugar in my coffee. :p I am a Ring geek, fan of Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock, Martin Freeman, Michael Rosenbaum, Lex Luthor, Elijah Wood, the Flash, Justice League, DC and Marvel, Simon Woods, Lee Ryan, Muse, Backstreet Boys, Shia LaBeouf, John Simm, Merlin, Doctor Who, and the list goes on and on. Endlessly. But these days am helplessly in love with Benedict and Martin. They just light up my days.

* I make gifs. I'm not so good at it, but I post only what I made.

* English is not my first language, so let me know when I write something wrong.

** Don't repost my gifs. You can save gifs freely, but reposting them is bit not good. Acutually, it's very very rude.

"Besides, the most important fact of the main character?" - that he is male? Because if that's the case you should read the books again and then look up the word misogynic.

Oh it’s harsh. Calm down, dear. Why are you upset?

You must be genius. How could you possibly deduce that I’m misogynic just because I said that I didn’t want John Watson to be female, and ‘gender is the most important fact about the character’?

Okay, I admit that I had omitted ‘one of’ in the sentence by mistake, so ‘one of the most important fact’ was what I actually thought. English is not my mother tongue, I sometimes have problem with it. I’m sorry my bad English confused you.

But I still think that gender is one of the most important things(like war veteran, crack shot, patient, loyal, etc) that define the character, because it can change everything about the person, the stories, and the relationships that I love. I just don’t want those critical facts to be changed.
It’s not always about gender or feminism thing. This is about the love for the original character thing, at least for me.
John Watson has been my favorite character since I was very young and I still love him as he is. I don’t want him to be largely changed from that John Watson that I know, it’s that all.

And just, please remember, I said ‘I don’t want it’, not ‘IT’S WRONG!’.
Don’t read only one sentence ‘the most important fact’ in the whole post and judge me. I guess you might’ve been offended by people rudely saying ‘I hate female Watson’, according to your use of word. Why misogynic, not sexism? Interesting choice.

Well, Female John is like ..Sam in LotR to be a female gardener or Galadriel to be a male elven king to me. Everything has to be okay with the old original verse fans? Some fans might not like it, and they can’t help it.

  2. dean-rochester said: i agree. it’s also the fact that they are expecting watson and holmes to fall in love in the new show. it’s also the fact that she is a DISGRACED doctor and not a war vet. there is nothing noble about her character.
